It was a beautiful, sunny day when Susie went out into the backyard. Suddenly she found a balloon on the grass. It was no ordinary balloon - it had colourful stripes that were slowly changing. When Susie smiled, the balloon turned as yellow as the sun. When she forgot her favourite teddy bear and got sad, the balloon got sad with her and turned blue! Susie was very curious as to why this was happening. Walking around the garden, she tried making different faces: once she was serious, once she was jumping for joy, and the balloon kept changing colours. Suddenly, she felt a slight gust of wind and the balloon gently floated above the ground. Susie gripped the string tighter, but the balloon began to pull her towards an old tree at the end of the garden. The girl felt a tinge of fear in her heart and a huge curiosity - where was the balloon taking her? And what would she find under the big, humming tree?....
