When the sun had long since disappeared behind the horizon and the sky had turned a deep dark blue, Julia, Maks, Lena and Tymon were sneaking along a path through the old forest. Julia's heart was pounding like crazy - after all, this was their first time sneaking out of the house in the middle of the night. Everything around them was different than it had been during the day; even the trees seemed to be whispering something among themselves, and the shadowy branches were casting bizarre patterns on the ground. - Are you sure this is a good idea? - whispered Lena, adjusting her rucksack. - 'Don't worry, we'll find the hut in no time and be back before anyone notices,' replied Maks, trying to sound confident, although you could sense the tension in his voice. Eventually they arrived. The hut stood in the middle of the trees, overgrown with moss, with broken windows and a door that was held on by a single hinge. Instead of relief, they felt unease. Something was in the air, something they didn't know how to name. Tymon was the first to approach the door and pressed it lightly. They creaked protractedly. It was dark inside, but their torches illuminated the dust and old furniture. Lena trembled. - 'Oi, look!' - Julia pointed to the wall where someone had written in chalk: 'Don't go in if you're not ready for the truth'. Suddenly a strange blue light flashed through the overgrown window and the air became icy. Someone or something moved in the depths of the hut. The friends froze in stillness, and emotions - fear, curiosity and excitement - fought within them for precedence.
