Whisper of a Leather Bag
In the old dormitory on Tarnowska Street, nobody wanted to live on the fourth floor. However, Magda had little choice - the rent was cheap, and she herself had always liked places with a past. As soon as she crossed the threshold of her new room, she smelled dust, old wood and.... something else. One night, as she sat at her desk after her first class, a ripped leather bag lying on a high shelf caught her eye.
She moved the bag to her desk. When she opened it, she heard a strange whispering sound, as if the air was escaping from the old pages of forgotten books. A pencil rolled from inside.
- Hey, softer! - muttered a thin voice.
Magda froze. A crumpled brochure slid out of the bag and whispered: - Don't worry, we're quite homely.
- Who... what are you? - She asked in disbelief, looking at the objects that had come to life.
- Former companions, forgotten by their previous owner. - The pencil rolled towards her. - And we have a task for you... A certain mission we must complete before we return to silence.
The shadows on the walls began to dance as the bag smiled with its wide lock flashing in the twilight. The brochure unfolded on the desk, showing written, unfinished pages. Suddenly, all the objects fell silent, and something quietly whined from the depths of the bag.
Magda held her breath, hearing the rustling of approaching footsteps in the corridor. Who else knew the secret of this room?
