Watch from the Past
It all started on a Friday afternoon when Igor was walking home from school through the old park. The wind whispered among the leaves and the sun shone through the branches. Igor, with his rucksack slung over his shoulder, approached a bench under a large oak tree to check the news. Something flashed under his feet. He bent down and picked up an old pocket watch. Its dial was scratched, but the hands were still moving, ticking completely out of rhythm.
Inside the lid was an engraving: 'Time is not everything. Courage, wanderer!" Igor smiled under his breath, thinking it was some old gadget. But when he pressed a small button on the side, he felt dizzy. The world around him swirled, colours blended into one, and an electric shudder pierced the air.
Suddenly he was in the middle of a cobbled square, surrounded by unfamiliar buildings. Instead of cars, there were carriages everywhere and people dressed in strange clothes - as if taken out of a history book. Igor realised that something was wrong. His smartphone wasn't working and his watch showed a strange time: 2:92 p.m. People around him looked at him suspiciously, so he moved towards the narrow street.
Before he had time to figure out how to get back, he heard the scuffling of shoes and a hiss: "It's him! He's got a watch!" Igor felt his heart pounding through his chest. Someone was approaching from around the corner. In a panic, he turned the watch in his hand and
Just at that moment he heard a quiet voice from behind him: "Don't do it if you want to survive. Time does not forgive mistakes."
