It was a dark, quiet night when Lena, David and Bartek decided to enter an old tenement on Kręta Street. The place was shrouded in disrepute, but after all, such places are where adventures are most often born, and they were not so easily frightened. They crossed the threshold, feeling the cold seep through to their bones. Underfoot, the rotten planks creaked. Lena was the first to take out a torch and point the light at the walls covered in peeling paint. David, usually the bravest, was strangely silent. "Maybe we'll find something interesting," he chuckled nervously. Bartek squeezed the phone - he knew that if anyone found out about their expedition, they would be in trouble. As they walked down the long corridor, an old boarded-up door appeared in front of them. From behind them came a strange, rhythmic whispering that seemed once quiet, once insistent. Lena felt a tightening in her stomach, David felt tense, and Bartek could not take his eyes off the cobwebbed door handle. - Do you hear that too? - asked Dawid deafeningly. No one answered - their breaths were intertwined with growing tension, and everyone felt something different: Lena anxiety, David anger at his own fear, Bartek curiosity mixed with goosebumps on the back of his neck. The whispering from behind the door suddenly grew louder. The door trembled slightly. In the air, she could feel the mixture of excitement and mystery that waited on the other side. Lena reached out her hand to the door handle....
