Viga and Thor's lost horn
In a far northern land, where the snow creaked underfoot and the waves hummed by the shore of a fjord, there lived a little Viking girl called Viga. She had red pigtails, a warm fur coat and an irreplaceable friend - a clever red fox called Loki. Every day Viga practised boating and archery, dreaming that one day she would become the bravest Viking in the whole village.
One frosty morning, the whole village was preparing for a big feast. Gilded by the sun, the long tables were strewn with dried fish and berries, and in the middle of the hall lay a huge, silver horn - rumoured to have once belonged to the god Thor! Viga and Loki always looked at this horn with admiration.
But when it was time for the feast and everyone started to descend, something strange happened - the horn disappeared! The Vikings began to look around in disbelief, and the elders furrowed their brows. "Without the horn, the feast will not begin!" - cried Chief Olaf, propping himself up with his great axe.
Viga looked at Loki. "We must find him!" - she whispered. Loki merely waved his fluffy tail and moved towards the door. The girl followed him, warming her hands in her pockets, feeling a thrill of excitement. Footsteps in the snow led beyond the village to a dark forest full of tall pines.
Suddenly Loki froze and set his ears. Quiet sounds could be heard among the trees.... As if someone was playing something on a horn! The friends looked at each other and then, creeping quietly, moved towards the forest clearing. There, among the white fluff and dancing shadows, they saw something that made them both open their eyes wide....
