In the middle of a large, green meadow stood Mr Beetroot's Vegetable House. The vegetable garden was as colourful as crayons in a box, and it smelled fresh and a little funny. Among all the vegetables lived the carrots: mum Carrots, dad Carrots and their three children - Lila, Boris and little Rysio. Rysio always had an orange cap and a perpetually smiling face. He loved to mess around, play tricks and come up with jokes, and his favourite pastime was to roll around on the vegetable floor until the carrot leaves flew in all directions. One morning the whole carrot family woke up to hear a strange noise. Something was quietly giggling in a box of radishes. Rysio immediately perked up his ears and jumped onto the crate with one leap. - What's laughing around here? - he asked, looking inside. But there was no one in the crate.... only the radish Romek was looking at him with his eyes wide open. - 'Rysio, have you perhaps seen who painted my moustache green tonight? - asked Romek with concern. The carrots laughed out loud. Even Mr Beetroot, who had just washed his cucumber, burst out laughing! But Rysio felt butterflies in his stomach: who had painted the radish moustache if not him? At the same moment, a funny humming could be heard from the back of the vegetable shop, followed immediately by the voice of Cucumber Gustave: - Hey, has anyone seen my glasses? They were here a minute ago, and now they're.... cucumber! The carrot family stood in a circle and looked at each other. What's going on here? All the vegetables started talking, telling about the strange and funny things that had happened last night. Lila noticed that her carrot-tail had turned into a lettuce mix, and Boris discovered that his carrot trousers.... are cucumber! Rysio felt a thrill of excitement run through his moustache. Just then, a quiet giggling sound came from behind the basket of tomatoes. Rysio made big eyes... What's hiding in there?
