Kaja has always liked a challenge. No wonder she couldn't resist the temptation to enter an abandoned factory on the outskirts of town. When she and Emil came there one sultry summer evening, adrenaline was bubbling under their skin. The area was fenced off with a rusting fence, behind which trees cast long, unsettling shadows. "Do you think something is spooky here?" - asked Emil, trying to put a lightly jocular tone into his voice, although you could feel that he was really tense. Kaja, ignoring the question, carefully squeezed through the hole in the fence. Emil followed her, rustling a bag full of snacks and torches. They went inside through a broken door. The interior greeted them with the smell of dust and rust. Everything around them looked surreal: industrial halls overgrown with ivy, the echo of their footsteps bouncing off the metal walls. After a while, they discovered a staircase leading down to the basement. Old, forgotten tools hung on the walls, as if they were still waiting for new owners. They descended low, and the light of their torches danced on the walls, revealing something unusual: in the centre of the dark room was a large oval mechanism. Strange symbols resembling writings from different cultures were carved around it, and fragments of metal pulsed with a faint blue light. Kaja felt her heart speed up and a cold shiver run down her spine. "Look at this!" - whispered Emil, pointing his finger at the panel of buttons and gears. They couldn't resist the temptation - Kaja turned one of the levers. Then everything around them began to change - the walls blurred, the light took on colours they had never seen before. Suddenly, the mechanism lit up with a blinding glow, and a swirling portal appeared beneath their feet, drawing in air, sounds and....
