The wardrobe that could talk
Maja lived in a small yellow house at the end of Rose Street. In her room, by the window, stood an old brown wardrobe. It had a convex door and shiny gold handles. Mum said that this wardrobe was very special because it still remembered the time when she was little.
But something amazing happened that evening. As Maja was putting her teddy bear, Lulus, to bed in her pyjamas, she heard a quiet whisper:
- Hm, can someone hear me?
Maja looked around puzzled. Lulus, did you say something? - she asked, looking at the teddy bear. However, the teddy bear was very quiet as always.
- Hello, here, here, in the cupboard! - called out a little voice.
The wardrobe! Maja felt her heart beating faster. She gently opened the wardrobe door and.... she saw that the golden handles were moving like a smiley face!
- 'Hi, Maya,' said the wardrobe, 'I'm Shafinka. I am very happy to talk to you. I have something unusual to show you, but you have to be very brave.
Lulus looked at Maja with his black eyes. The girl knew that it was always easier with such a friend! Together they slowly slipped into the wardrobe and the door closed behind them with a slight creak.
It was completely dark inside... until suddenly there were flashing lights all around Majka and Lulus and colourful shelves began to rotate! All the clothes swirled around them, and a little whispering hat leaned out from behind one coat.
- Follow me! - whispered the hat and pointed to the steps leading down into the depths of the wardrobe.
Maja squeezed Lulus's paw, took a big breath and....
