Something unusual was lurking in the woods behind the town, right next to the old cycle track. Lena, Maks, Oskar and Nadia were a neighbourhood pack who had seen a lot. But what they found last Saturday trumped all their previous adventures. It started innocently enough - because of the heat, they decided to walk along a forest path to find some shade. The sun was shining through the leaves and there was the smell of conifers and damp earth everywhere. Suddenly, Lena stumbled over something soft. "Look!" - she exclaimed. There was a huge, unusual paw print on the ground. It looked like a wolf print, but it was three times bigger and had strange extra fingers. Oskar took out his phone and took a picture. "I'll show it to my grandmother - she knows about animals," he said. Maks furrowed his eyebrows: "What if it's not one of our animals? Maybe someone has released an exotic creature? Or it's a mutant!" Nadia, a little more sceptical, rubbed the trail with her finger. "I think it must be a joke. Someone has imprinted something here for a joke." They moved on, looking around anxiously. Every few steps, more footprints appeared - they led deeper into the forest, all the way to an old, forgotten bunker from the war. Oskar was the first to jump inside through the window. "Come on! Someone has been here recently!" On the floor of the bunker lay tumbled leaves, torn candy bar wrappers and clumps of dark fur. Suddenly they heard a quiet rustling, and then something heavy jerked the bushes behind the bunker wall. Lena felt her hair stand up on end. Maks squeezed Nadia's shoulder. They all looked into each other's eyes, knowing that something was about to happen that none of them could have predicted....
