The eleventh floor of the old high school building always seemed a little too quiet to Maia. Everyone knew that it once housed the physics laboratories, but none of the students had looked there for years. This was the place the team - Kuba, Lena, Oskar and her - chose to meet. It was already nine o'clock and the last rays of sunlight were streaming in through the dusty windows when Lena decided to check out the room behind the rusty door rumoured to be there. Darkness stretched before them and the air smelled of dust and old electronics. Suddenly Cuba found a floorboard, slightly raised at one corner. Together they levered it up and discovered a metal ladder leading downwards. Oskar flicked on his phone and was stunned - there was another floor below their school. As they descended, they came across a room full of overgrown cables, computers with tube screens and flashing panels. In the middle lay a huge, code-locked safe. Next to it stood an old diary, written in dense notes in a language that resembled computer code but also contained strangely familiar words. Maja touched one of the consoles - suddenly the screens flashed up, and a date appeared on one of them: "28 April 2064". "After all, today is 2024..." - whispered Lena. At the same moment, the door of the safe began to open with a metallic creak, and a blue glow emerged from the darkness, and something else that could not be described in human words. They froze in stillness, trying to make sense of what they had just released from under their school.
