The mystery of the Fluorite Cave
From the semi-darkness of the old school basement, the smell of musty and dust still wafted up. Marek, Lena and Przemek, three friends from the eighth grade, shuffled carefully between crates full of unused textbooks. It was late Friday evening - the school had long since deserted, and they, armed with torches and a small bottle of juice, decided to investigate rumours of a secret passage under the building.
Marek stopped suddenly, knelt down and scraped away the floorboard. To everyone's surprise, it could be lifted easily - there was a dark crevice underneath. Lena sent the boys an uncertain look, but the desire for adventure won out.
They went down a narrow, damp corridor that smelled strangely refreshing, like mint. After a few minutes, they reached a vast chamber where the walls glittered with blue light. At every step, crystals resembling giant toothbrushes rose from beneath the ground, and stalactites that looked like giant dental floss hung from the ceiling. The air vibrated with quiet noises - as if something was quietly crunching.
Przemek leaned over one of the strange, milky white rocks to get a better look at it. "It literally looks like a tooth..." - he whispered. Marek swallowed his saliva loudly.
Suddenly, a raucous giggle came from the depths of the cave, and the wall moved gently. A figure emerged from the darkness - the mysterious guardian of the cave, clad in a cloak of toothpaste and a mask of fluoride pastilles. He looked at the teenagers with cold eyes and spoke in a voice that fascinated and frightened at the same time:
"What are you doing here? Who dared to disturb the balance of the Fluorite Cave? Do you know what the consequences are for those who disregard the power of oral hygiene...?"
Before they had time to answer, the ground beneath their feet began to tremble....
