Gabrysia really enjoyed going to school. There was always a lot going on in class 1B - it was colourful, fun and you could never get bored. On Monday mornings, when the children were gathering in front of the classroom, someone noticed that something was wrong. Usually, the bell would ring loudly when lessons started, but today it was as quiet as a poppy seed. - Did anyone hear the bell? - asked Jim, scratching his head. - Not at all! - replied Gabrysia, looking around. - Maybe it's broken? Mrs Basia, their teacher, was also surprised. - That's very strange - she said, wrinkling her forehead. - Without the bell, we don't know when the break starts! The children started whispering among themselves. Kuba, who always had the most ideas, suggested: - Maybe we should look for the bell! After all, it couldn't just disappear! The pupils looked around the corridor. The cupboards looked the same as ever, but were they really? Gabrysia went to her locker and opened it carefully. Inside, instead of books, she saw... a small trail of glitter! - Look, there's something here! - she called out excitedly. Behind her, the other children looked into the cupboard. The brocade stretched in a thin line across the corridor to the stairs to the attic, which none of the pupils had ever entered before. - Maybe someone took our bell right there? - whispered Gabrysia. The children looked at each other - a little uncertainly, but also very curious. Kuba raised his hand: - Let's go check! Maybe we'll find out what happened to the bell! Slowly, step by step, the whole class set off after the glittering footsteps. They descended quietly, not wanting to scare off anyone who might be hiding there. As they stood under the door leading to the attic, they suddenly heard strange sounds: something like laughter, but a little more.... ringing? Gabrysia grabbed Jas's hand. They all held their breath and looked at each other with wide-open eyes. What would they find on the other side of the door?
