The Invisible in the Light of Neon
The city of Lumina never went to sleep. From the rooftop of the tenement building on Głęboka Street, there was a view of thousands of lights that pulsed as if the city had its own heartbeat. It was here that Nadia, Krzysiek, Igor and Lena met. Each of them carried something special that they were afraid to write about even in their diary.
Nadia could talk to the light. For several weeks now, whenever she looked at the lampposts, they lit up like supernovas or went out completely, listening to her silent request. Christopher discovered that he could stop time - albeit for only three seconds so far. Igor, attracted to the storm with his eyes, controlled the clouds and the wind. Lena, on the other hand, saw the colours of feelings in people; sometimes their sorrows glowed blue and their joys shimmered gold.
One night, as they were all sitting on the roof sharing new discoveries, a mysterious figure flashed past them somewhere in the distance. She stopped under a lamp, and her shadow seemed unnaturally long. Nadia, sensing a strange energy, raised her hand slightly - the lights throughout the quarter blinked nervously.
"Did you see that?" - whispered Lena, looking at the others. In the same instant, the same unknown number and message appeared on their phones: "If you want to know the truth about your powers, come to the Moon Bridge. At midnight. Don't come alone. They already know."
Lumina's heart rumbled - and their own. Did they have the courage to venture out into the unknown that night? As the hands of the clock approached midnight, they felt their powers awaken stronger than ever.
Clouds gathered over the rooftops of the city and the first drops of rain fell on their faces. Who was waiting for them on the Moon Bridge? And who were "they" that the message warned about?
