Did You Know?

The Great Journey of Kacper and Susie

The Great Journey of Kacper and Susie
Kacper was seven years old and had always been very curious. His younger sister Zuzia, who was five, loved to play with him in the garden, especially when the sun was shining. One warm afternoon, the children were playing tag when suddenly Susie stopped and noticed something unusual. There were small, round footprints imprinted on the soft earth, right next to the garden fence. They did not resemble dog, cat or bird tracks. Kacper immediately knelt down and took a closer look at them. - Look how funny! - he said excitedly. - They go straight into the forest! Susie was a little frightened, but also very curious. - Maybe it's the footsteps of a dwarf? - she whispered. Kacper smiled broadly. - Or maybe it's a very small dragon! Every trail will lead to an amazing adventure! The children quickly put on their wellingtons, took a torch, a map made of card and jam sandwiches. Mum let them play near the house, so they set off slowly, carefully following the tracks. It was quiet in the forest, only the singing of birds could be heard. Kacper and Zuzia stopped every now and then to look more closely at more puzzling footprints. After a few minutes, they found something astonishing - a red cap was lying under a large oak tree. Susie was sure that it was the dwarf who had lost it. Kacper gently picked up the cap, whereupon they both heard the quiet crunch of a twig somewhere behind them. They stopped and looked after each other with wide-open eyes. Was someone here? Was it a dwarf, or perhaps something even more unusual? Behind their backs they could hear rustling more and more clearly....
