However, the fourteenth floor of a high-rise building at 17 Zlota Street had just become the place where reality began to change. Franek was sitting in his room, trying to solve a physics assignment. Suddenly, he felt a tingling sensation in his fingers and saw the pen begin to float slightly over the page. At first he thought that fatigue was getting to him. But then the pen fell on the desk with a loud clatter, and Frank heard quiet laughter. He turned abruptly. It was Anka - his neighbour known for her cutting tongue and bright blue hair. She stood in the doorway, leaning against the doorframe. - 'Did you see that too? - She chuckled. Frank nodded, trying not to look like an idiot. For a moment he wondered if this was some new joke on Anka's part. - I... something strange has been going on for a few days. Sometimes I can predict what someone is going to say,' the girl added quietly, changing her expression to a serious one. - I don't think we're the only ones experiencing this. The next day at school, Franek, Anka, their friend Miłosz and Ewa - the smartest person in the class - met in the deserted common room. Eve told the story of how her phone suddenly started working without power, and Milosz admitted to recovering from his wounds alarmingly quickly. They all felt they had something in common.
