Did You Know?

The Eccentric Hat Club

The Eccentric Hat Club
In the town of Hatville, where the rain never fell vertically (because it always had a twist like a hairdresser's Monday), three friends met: Philip, who owned a doormat hat, Kaja, the owner of a bowler hat with a Bluetooth speaker, and Gabrys, the proud owner of a beret with a pinwheel. Each was a member of the Eccentric Hat Club, where there was only one rule: if your hat doesn't attract the attention of your neighbours, it's time to spruce it up! That evening, with the moon looking like an onion slice and the smell of beetroot doughnuts coming from the nearby bakery, the friends decided to invent a new club attraction. Philip, twirling the doormat over his forehead, chuckled: - How about a tour of the city where everyone has to get the weirdest hat accessory? The rule is one: the more impractical, the better! Gabrys was already figuring out how to attach a miniature leaf blower to his beret, and Kaja was searching the internet full of bizarre inventions (and memes about hats). Before they knew it, they were ready - they decided to embark on a nighttime hat expedition. The city was revealing its other face after dark. At the corner of Kapeluszników Street, they met an elderly gentleman in a cylinder with a torch who, in exchange for one doughnut, told them the location of a pet shop with the strangest animals. Apparently you could get a goldfish with a beard and a parrot that recites quotes from philosophers there. When they entered the shop, they were greeted by the owner, Mr Tadeusz, who wore the famous invisibility hat (but occasionally lost it and searched for an hour all over the shop). The animals looked at their friends with interest, as if they knew something was going to happen that night. Just when Gabrys was trying to discreetly convince the ferret to jump on his head, they heard a strange knocking from behind the door leading to the cellar. Mr Tadeusz turned pale and said: - This door is better avoided.... Well, unless you really like surprises. The friends looked at each other. Should they go into the cellar? Would they find there the most unlikely hat accessory in the Hatter? They stood in front of the door, behind which the tapping sounded more and more distinct....
