Did You Know?

The button that whispered

The button that whispered
In the morning, it rained quietly in the kitchen. Zosia stirred the porridge with a wooden spoon slowly. The cat Felek was looking at the bowl and purring. Suddenly, something rustled in her apron pocket. Zosia took out her grandmother's old blue button. The button was warm and trembled slightly. She heard a whisper, very quiet and clear. "Hook me up today, please, and I will show you the way." Zosia quickly fastened the button on her jumper. The thread from the button lit up with a soft light. A luminous line appeared on the floor. The dash flowed between the tiles like a small stream. Felek followed it, his tail sweeping the dust. The light spiraled under the table and into the pantry. A small golden door flashed on the wall. The door had not been there yesterday, that much was certain. Zosia looked at Felk and whispered: "Open?" The handle moved of its own accord and quietly rattled. Zosia raised her hand, but then something knocked.
