Did You Know?

Taddy Bear's Lost Smile

Taddy Bear's Lost Smile
In the green forest, right next to the babbling brook, lived Philip the Bear. Everyone in the forest knew his wide, warm smile, which he shared with everyone, from hedgehogs to jays. But one morning something was different. When Philip looked into the dew mirror, he saw that… no smile! His muzzle was serious and sad. Philip tried to laugh, but nothing came out. Worried, he decided to go in search of his smile. On the way, he met Susie the Squirrel, who was crying because she had lost a nut. Together they sat down under an oak tree. “Susie, why are you crying?” asked Philip quietly. “I’ve lost my nut and I don’t know where it is!” sobbed the squirrel. Philip felt a strange sensation in his tummy. It was heavy and sad. He tried to comfort Susie, but he missed his own smile terribly. Susie, however, began to wonder: “And you, Philip, why aren’t you laughing?” “My smile is gone,” whispered the bear. At that moment, a mysterious shadow appeared under the tree. Someone – or something – was watching the bear and the squirrel from behind the fern. Who was it? Could it be the one who knew where Philip’s smile was hidden? The air was thick with tension…
