Susie and the Pomegranate Pebble to the Land of Wonders
Seven-year-old Susie loved playing in the garden. One sunny afternoon she noticed something shiny under a strawberry bush. She squatted down and picked up a small, shiny pebble. It was dark blue and had a golden sparkle in the middle that twinkled like a star. As Susie squeezed the pebble tightly in her hand, she heard a soft ringing sound and suddenly the wind began to swirl around her.
Instead of her garden, she saw a large, green gate of leaves in front of her. Susie looked around - she was no longer at home! Behind the gate, coloured lights twinkled and the air smelled of strawberries and vanilla. "I wonder what's on the other side?" - she thought. Suddenly a little gnome in a red cap appeared next to her. He had funny pointed ears and green shoes with bells.
- Hello, Susie! - said the gnome and bowed low. - I am Plumek. This pebble is the key to our world. Are you ready for an adventure?
Susie nodded with her eyes wide open. The gnome led her through a green gate. Inside the forest, the trees were so tall that their leaves reached the clouds. Small, colourful hedgehogs ran along the paths and plate-sized butterflies flew through the air. Susie saw that every flower was singing softly and that mushroom lights hung swaying on the branches.
Suddenly Plumek stopped and pointed to a small pond whose water was as silver as the moon. - 'That's where Smudge, the magical frog, lives. Perhaps she knows the answer to your question,' said the gnome.
At the same moment, a frog with a purple spot on its back emerged from the water and looked at Susie with a smile. But then... a strange rustling sound came from behind a bush, and the shadow of someone... or something completely unusual appeared among the trees.
