Susie and the Door to the Flower World
There was a garden where Susie liked to play every day after school. Large sunflowers, fragrant pansies and leaves rustling in the grass grew there. What she liked best was to bask with her cat Fluffy on the wooden bench, dreaming of faraway journeys. One rainy afternoon, as the drops drummed against the windowsill, Susie noticed something strange. The door of the old, forgotten shed behind the house was slightly ajar. Could it be that it was blowing? Curiosity won out over fear. Susie pulled on her wellies, scooped Fluffy up in her arms and set off across the wet grass. The shed creaked quietly as she pushed open the door. It was dark inside, but there, at the back, amid the dust and cobwebs, something bright was flickering. Susie stepped closer. It was a small, old door! It had a brass handle and a large flower carved in the middle. Fluffy murmured curiously. The girl pressed the handle and... the door opened with a quiet click. Behind them stretched a colourful tunnel, full of swirling petals and lights. Inside the tunnel, the smell of sweets and summer days flowed. Susie took a step forward and Fluffy jumped onto her shoulder. The tunnel began to swirl, and laughter and whispers could be heard all around. After a while, a soft, flowery meadow appeared under their feet. Winged creatures danced in the distance and the trees had leaves shaped like hearts and stars. Susie smiled broadly. She looked around, wondering what awaited them now....
