Star maze
Space was as quiet as ever. Oskar, Lena, Maks and Julia were flying through the asteroid belt in their small research vessel "Argo". After long hours of patrolling, they were already feeling sleepy, but it was then that Lena noticed something unusual on the monitor: an enigmatic shape was looming among the rocks.
- Look! It's not an asteroid... - she whispered, touching the screen.
The ship came to a slow stop, drifting closer to the mysterious object. The metallic surface reflected distant starlight, and there was growing excitement on board.
- 'It looks like the wreck of some old probe, but.... it's too big,' muttered Maks, swallowing his saliva.
Julia was already putting on the suit, not hiding her curiosity. Oskar activated the scanner, but the device only growled quietly, unable to recognise the structure.
- 'I think this is more than just an ordinary ship,' Lena said as their airlock swung open with a hiss. They emerged onto the surface of the wreckage, whose strange symbols covered the entire shield. Almond-shaped signs flicked on the entrance panel.
Suddenly, when Lena touched one of them, the whole structure flashed with blue light. The door slowly swung open with a deep echo and the four friends stepped inside, leaving the safety of their ship behind.
The corridors of the interior were unusual - the walls were changing colours, as if pulsating with the breath of an unknown being. The sounds grew louder and the echo of their footsteps seemed to repeat in strange, unseen rhythms. Suddenly, Maks noticed that the door behind them was closing and lights leading into the depths of the ship were coming on in front of them.
- 'Something invited us here... Or trapped us,' Julia said quietly.
The corridor curved in front of them, and at the end they could see a mysterious mist and a barely audible voice that sounded like nothing they knew from Earth....
