Silver Forest and the Timeless Clock
Lena walked through the misty morning, untangling branches that had already scratched her palms a few times. She knew she shouldn't be here, but curiosity won out. The border of the Silver Forest, surrounded by village legends, had tempted her since childhood. It was whispered that among the pines there were trees whose leaves glittered as if someone had covered them with stardust, and that time passed there in a completely different way.
As she crossed the last row of ordinary trees, an almost unreal silence surrounded her. The light, piercing through the boughs, was silvery in hue, and the singing of the birds echoed, as if the sounds themselves were looking for a way out. Lena felt a shiver. Suddenly, just off the path she was walking, a figure flashed by. It was a boy about her age, with a storm of black hair and an eye patch. For a moment he stood still, as if assessing whether it was worth speaking.
- Are you lost? - He finally asked, and his voice was both clear and slightly trembling.
- 'Rather not,' Lena replied, feigning more confidence than she really felt. - I'm looking for... something.
The boy smiled slightly, as if he knew the story all too well. He introduced himself as Aron and invited her to a hidden encampment, away from the main paths of the forest. There she met two other people: Sara, a quiet girl with silver eyes, and Rudi, almost invisible in the shadows, who seemed to be one of those people who never tell their secrets.
Before Lena had time to get comfortable for good, Aron told her about the Timeless Clock - an ancient tower in the heart of the forest that supposedly can stop or turn back time. Apparently, no one who crossed its threshold was the same again. And for the past few nights, things began to happen around it that frightened even the bravest inhabitants of the Silver Forest.
- What are you really looking for, Lena? - Sara asked, looking her straight in the eye.
Before Lena could answer, she heard a dragging, metallic sound in the distance. As if someone had just moved a huge hand on the Timeless Clock. Everyone froze. Lena felt her heart beating harder than ever before.
- 'If you want to find out, come with us,' Aron said quietly and moved towards the tower. Lena looked at Sara and Rudi, who were already standing on the path, ready to go.
As she took her first step, there was a sudden breath of cold in the air, and shiny leaves sprinkled from the treetops. The forest seemed to hold its breath. Lena had to decide: follow her new friends or explore the abandoned tower alone. Any decision could change everything...
