The school Martha attended stood on the edge of the woods. Its high walls were remembered by hundreds of pupils, but this spring the place seemed strangely different. Marta always liked to wander the school corridors in the late afternoon. An old gramophone stood in the middle, and on the dusty walls hung mirrors smudged as if by human fingers. - It's ... It's strange," whispered Kuba, feeling the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. Marta remained silent. She felt a slight pressure in her stomach. Martha looked at her reflection, in which joy was intertwined with something she had never understood before. They took a step forward. It was as if someone was pulling them inside. They felt that this place knew all their secrets, and the gramophone played faster and faster. Marta and Kuba exchanged glances. Their hearts beat harder and the door closed behind them.
