Did You Know?

Shadow over the Lunar Tower

Shadow over the Lunar Tower
Fog shrouded the old city of Veridian just after nightfall, as if it wanted to hide its secrets itself. Somewhere on the outskirts, between the ruins of ancient walls, rose the Lunar Tower - a place about which legends circulated among the inhabitants, but no one dared to approach there after dark. Just tonight was special - the moon would be full and the sky cloudless. This was to be their evening. The six friends gathered under the spreading oak tree: Lena, a quiet observer of everyday life; Dorian, a born sceptic; Inga, with a head full of myths; twin sisters Mara and Nora, ready for any challenge, and Armin, who had an irresistible feeling that something was going to happen that evening. Each of them had a reason for standing under the Tower tonight. Each harboured their own questions that they longed to find answers to. "If the legend is true, tonight you can see a luminous circle at the top of the tower," whispered Inga, trying to hide the tremor in her voice. Dorian rolled his eyes, but nevertheless followed the group towards the stone staircase overgrown with ivy. Each step took them higher and deeper into the darkness, illuminated only by the silvery glow of the moon. In a silence broken only by the rustling of leaves, Mara suddenly stopped and pointed to the tower wall. "Look! The symbol..." - her voice froze as they saw, under the moonlight, a mysterious sign carved into the stone: a crescent moon surrounded by misty bands that pulsed slightly in the darkness. As Lena touched the engraved motif, she felt a gentle warmth begin to spread under her fingers. Suddenly, a soft, melodious sound came from inside the tower, as if someone was playing a harp made of light. The door, which had hitherto appeared to have been bolted for decades, slowly began to creak and open wide, inviting them inside. They each held their breath - they expected dust and darkness, but instead saw a spiral staircase leading upwards, illuminated by pulsating globes of brightness floating in the air. Armin was the first to cross the threshold. His friends' hearts pounded like mad as they moved in his footsteps. The echo of their footsteps was lost in the soft silence, and the air thickened with magic. With each step, the lights became more intense and pulsating symbols appeared on the walls, the meaning of which they did not know. When they reached the last level, Lena turned to take one last look at the city below them. She froze as she saw a figure in a silvery cloak on the roof of the tower, whose face was hidden in the shadow of a hood. The figure raised a hand, indicating them clearly - and then the stone floor began to tremble underfoot. Was what awaited them at the top of the Lunar Tower the fulfilment of a legend, or the beginning of something far more dangerous?
