As the sun hid behind the forest line, the town of Zawilchany quietened under the weight of the summer night. Shadows moved quietly on the rooftops and in the alleys - these were the ones who knew real life at night. Among them was a young raccoon named Remik, whose curiosity always pushed him where he shouldn't be. Remik lived with his family under an old veranda. However, that night he was unable to sleep. He felt something peculiar in the air, as if a bittersweet smell of mystery was permeating the damp earth. Something was drawing him to the roof of the library, where, he had overheard the day before, a 'meeting of the elders' was to be held. With a pounding heart, he dashed through gardens full of snails and rotten apples before finally climbing up a slippery gutter. Familiar silhouettes were already waiting on the roof: the grey-haired crow Lusia, the old rat Boris and Lisa, an inconspicuous marten with a penetrating gaze. Remik tried to blend into the shadows, but Lisa immediately spotted him. - 'You're here for the first time, aren't you? - She whispered, approaching quietly.
