Mr Kleks lived in a yellow house on Flower Street. He was very cheerful and had the strangest socks in the whole town. His favourite pair were purple with yellow dots. Every morning he danced in them in front of the mirror, singing funny songs about carrot soup and bearded toadstools. One day, when Mr Kleks opened a drawer to take out his purple socks, he noticed that the the socks had started to move slightly! He rubbed his eyes in amazement. - I must have missed something! - he said and took them out carefully, as if they were delicate butterflies. Suddenly the socks jumped out of his hands and leapt to the floor. - Hey, Mr Kleksssss! - they squealed in thin voices. - We're not going to go on your feet today! Mr Kleks jumped up and down. - Am I dreaming, or are you guys really talking! The socks started rolling around the room, laughing and doing flips. One of them hid behind a cactus pot and the other jumped around the chair like a spring. - If you want to wear them today, you'll have to catch us! - exclaimed the one from under the armchair, while the other added: - 'But be careful, because we left a surprise in your shoe! At that moment something strange began to crawl out of Mr Kleks' shoe. It was soft and colourful....
