Passage under the Green Clock
It was almost midnight when Magda, Tom and Lena, winding their way through the deserted market square, stood under the Green Clock. This old brass marvel had been chiming every hour in the heart of the town for years, though no one but them had ever paid much attention to it.
- 'I've been saying I want to come back here for a long time,' Tom whispered, running his fingers over the damp stones. - 'My grandmother used to say there was a door to another world hidden under the clock.
Magda rolled her eyes, but Lena, who was always looking for adventure, knelt down and began to tap the foundation. Suddenly, a dry, hollow sound came from under her hand. She moved her hand once more - and felt a slight tremor. The stone moved away with a quiet rustling sound, revealing a small iron door. It was decorated with a green ornament resembling leaves.
- Really? - Magda looked up in disbelief. - This must just be some kind of storage room....
But Lena was already looking for the handle. The door, though it looked solid, opened noiselessly. Behind them stretched a narrow, winding corridor flooded with pulsating green light.
Tom glanced at the clock - it was exactly 00:00. The sound of a bell echoed around them, and the light in the corridor took on mysterious shades of purple and blue. A whisper rang out in the depths:
- Only those who believe in the impossible can pass on....
Magda, although she didn't want to admit it, felt a shiver run down her spine. Lena moved first, disappearing inside. Tom looked at Magda questioningly - she nodded and together they entered the unknown.
Beyond the threshold, the world was completely different. Glowing trees hung there, transparent ferns grew underfoot, and strange, low sounds resembling quiet laughter pierced the air. In the distance, the silhouettes of beings they had never seen before shimmered.
Suddenly, the ground beneath their feet began to yield slightly, and a figure clad in a silvery cloak appeared before them. She wore a mask of shining glass and held a luminous sphere in her hand.
- Welcome, seekers. Are you sure you want to know the truth of this world? - She asked in a melodious voice.
The friends looked at each other, feeling the tension building up. What awaited them around the next bend? Would they dare to take the next step?
