The old town library had always seemed like a place full of secrets to Zuzie, Tom and Maria. They were adults now, but the dusty bookcases, the quiet rustling between the shelves and the antiquated smell of books made them feel the thrill of adventure every time. One stormy evening, when the last readers had left the library and the wind was rumbling outside the windows, they decided to see if the stories about the 'hall of shadows' were true. They walked through corridors they had never seen before, led by a strange sense of unease and excitement. At one point, Susie noticed a faded book standing out slightly from the others. As she pulled it, the entire bookcase slowly moved aside, revealing a dark, narrow passage. Without a word, with trembling hands, they reached for their torches and stepped inside. The corridor was lined with old tiles that bore mysterious dream-like signs and drawings. There were strange whispers in the air, though no one spoke a word. Pale light shimmered from around the corner and their shadows danced on the walls. Suddenly, the road split into three side corridors. Inscriptions appeared on the walls: "Choose wisely, for not every path leads back". The friends exchanged communicative glances. Each path was different: one was drowned in a blue glow, another was plunged into deep silence and the third pulsed with reddish light. Before they could make up their minds, however, the air shook with a deafening sound coming from deep in the corridor, and the lights of the torches began to flicker....
