Olaf and the Enchanted Viking Horn

Olaf and the Enchanted Viking Horn
On the shores of the big blue fjord stood a Viking village. The wooden houses smelled of smoke from the campfires, and the smell of freshly baked bread came from Grandpa Siegfried's kitchen. In this village lived six-year-old Olaf, a boy with fair hair and a lush imagination. Olaf had a best friend - a fluffy wolf named Fringe, who loved to run after Olaf in the forest. One morning Olaf woke up very early. Golden rays of sunlight were streaming in through the window. He gently shook Fringe, who was sleeping curled up next to the bed. "Let's go to the beach today! Maybe we'll find something interesting!" - whispered Olaf. The wolf was instantly awake and, wagging his tail, set off after him. Shiny seashells lay on the beach and the waves hummed quietly. Olaf and Fringe ran along the shore until they came to a big old oak tree that grew right by the water. It was beneath it that Olaf often found colourful pebbles and feathers of birds. This time, however, he noticed something strange - a piece of an old box was sticking out from under the roots! Olaf crouched down and began to dig carefully in the sand with his hands. Fringe helped him with his paws, digging up the soft earth. After a while, the box was completely visible. It was decorated with carved dragons and had a golden buckle in the shape of a ship. The boy opened it with difficulty - it creaked as if no one had moved it for a very long time. Inside lay an old Viking horn, shiny and beautifully decorated with runes. When Olaf picked it up, he felt as if a light wind swirled in the air. The horn was heavier than it looked, and a small red stone glittered at the end of it. Fringe sniffed the horn and sneezed playfully, and then a low, quiet buzzing sound came from the water in the distance.... Olaf looked at Fringe - could it be that the horn had come to life? With a beating heart, the boy brought the horn close to his lips. The fjord was suddenly quiet and even the seagulls hovered in the air. "Should I blow the horn?" - thought Olaf. Just nearby, behind a large boulder, something began to move....
