Ola and the Doors of Chalk
Rain taps on the window pane in Ola's room.
A shoebox lies on the carpet.
Mig, the little cat, purrs at her sock.
"Today we are flying far," Ola says to Mig.
She takes chalk and coloured tape out of a drawer.
On the desk lies a map with a rocket sticker on it.
On the floor she draws a large door with a handle.
He tapes a box and makes a small telescope.
"This is the ship of the Imagination," he whispers into the cat's ears.
Mig nods his tail like a clock at a song.
Ola touches the chalk door and suddenly feels a chill.
She puts on a baseball cap and her small backpack.
The line gleams like snow in a night light.
Something knocks on the other side, once and again.
"Can you hear it, Migu?" asks Ola very quietly.
The doorknob trembles and slowly moves downwards.
The door rustles on the floor and a shadow flashes inside.
