Observers from the Other Side
The darkness of the corridor was as thick as pitch, and the cold, rusty doorknob almost steamed Viktor's hand. The sound of raindrops falling mingled with Ania's quickened breathing and Max's muffled laughter. The old villa on the hill - abandoned for over a hundred years - had become their refuge and a mysterious respite from the grey everyday life.
That evening, armed with torches, notepads and endless curiosity, they decided to search the oldest part of the cellar. Rumour had it that within these walls, where the walls were soaked in the echoes of past histories, time flows differently and reality is sometimes more fragile than adults admit.
Descending deeper, they came across a massive metal door covered with strange signs they would not have found in any history book. Anna, fascinated by the archaic design, couldn't resist touching one of the symbols. At the same moment, lines of light flashed in the wall, arranging themselves in intricate patterns, and the air thickened, vibrating with an unfamiliar sound.
Behind the door was something that resembled not so much another room as an entrance to another dimension - they could see trees growing upside down, rivers flowing across the sky, and mysterious figures with shining eyes moving on the horizon, just out of sight.
"Are we going in?" whispered Maks, and the echo of his voice trembled in the air.
The door began to open slowly, and a milky white mist began to pour out from behind the threshold. Inside, amidst the mist, something moved - something that turned towards them and made a gesture of invitation....
