Night Whisper of the Wolves
The night on the border of the Forest of Equinox was like a shadow thick with memories and unspoken promises. Somewhere between the shriveled leaves and the quiet hum of an old oak tree stepped Fen, a young wolf with a silvery coat. He dashed across the resin-scented clearing, carrying an owl feather in his teeth - a gift for the leader of the pack. Next to him walked Lira, angry and distrustful, with eyes as dark as the night sky. Someone else was watching their movements: from hiding behind a mossy boulder, a girl with a braid, Aśka, dressed in an old jacket and clogs, was looking at them.
Aśka came here at dawn, but only at night did she hear voices. She knew this area better than anyone - she knew the secrets of the glades and ice-capped streams, the paw prints on the damp earth. Recently, however, something had changed in the forest. Animals began to disappear and strange lights appeared in the sky. Her grandmother used to say that sometimes the forest demands something. Now Aśka, Fen and Lira had to join forces: even though wolves didn't trust humans and humans were afraid of wolves.
They met under an oak tree whose branches resembled outstretched arms. Fen held out his pen. "It's a sign - we must hurry. He's already here," he whispered, and his voice trembled. Lira growled: "I've seen footprints bigger than a bear's paw. It's not human."
Aśka nodded, brushing her hair back from her sweaty forehead. A stranger's whisper echoed through the spruce needles in the darkness. "We're not alone here..." Fen wailed, feeling the ground beneath his paws tremble slightly.
Everything froze. A figure emerged from the darkness - too large for a wolf, too silent for a human. The shadow stopped just short of the tree, and a menacing, electric silence hung in the air.
Would they dare to come closer? What hides in the forest shadows? The night, thick and mysterious, did not reveal the answer - yet.
