Night under the Dome of Illusion
A dense fog had settled on the outskirts of the Lyric City when a crimson stagecoach harnessed to two black horses passed through the quiet avenue. On its side was a golden inscription: "Madame Lune's Circus - Where Reality Ends". Rumour had it that this circus only appears once a decade and is capable of capturing the imagination of anyone under its dome.
Lena, Adrian and Wojtek sat on the fence by the park, watching the performers set up a huge, silvery tent. The glow of the lights, acrobats training on ropes between the trees and the smell of fresh popcorn had already attracted crowds of adults and children. But something about this circus was different than usual - there was an air of mystery in the air.
As soon as dusk fell and the last spotlight illuminated the entrance to the tent, the three friends slipped out from under their parents' watchful eyes and bought tickets for the night show. Inside, a sight they had never seen before awaited them: tightrope walkers walked upside down just under the dome, an illusionist teleported from one end of the arena to the other, and a clown looked more like a renegade from a dream circus than a regular clown.
At one point Madame Lune herself entered the arena. Her dress glittered with tiny crystals and her eyes seemed to see everything. - 'Dear spectators,' she spoke in a voice that was sweet and deep at the same time, 'today I am going to open to you the door to a world that has always existed here, but not everyone has seen it.
Lena felt a shiver run down her spine. Madame Lune looked straight at the three of them. - It's time for the most important show of the night. Please, I will choose three daredevils from the audience.
Lena's heart began to beat like crazy. Madame Lune nodded at them, and the lights went out. A whisper passed through the arena and the air thickened with emotion. Everyone was waiting for what would happen next....
