Dust drifting from the ceiling, stage latches creaking and moonlight seeping through the stained glass windows - this is what the old Radiance Theatre looked like, abandoned for years now. Among the thousands of dust particles that floated in the air, four friends, Lena, David, Kamil and Asia, stood in the middle of the stage. "I can't believe we actually walked in here..." - whispered Lena, clutching the torch in her hand. Her heart was beating faster than usual, and the sound of her own breathing seemed too loud against the quiet of the night. Kamil smiled slightly. "It's just an old theatre. Nothing to be afraid of... yet." As they looked around the high balconies and rows of empty seats, the sounds of muffled footsteps and the echoes of past performances reached their ears. David approached the curtain that hung sleepily over the boards. "Do you think there's something behind it?" - he chuckled uneasily, pointing to a strange gap between the stage and the backstage area. Asia, who was always the least fearful, reached out and pushed the heavy material away. Suddenly, a cool breeze blew from backstage. Everyone froze. Lena felt her skin cover with goosebumps. David shone his torch through the resulting gap. Before their eyes appeared the hazy outlines of a staircase leading down to a part of the theatre none of them had ever seen. From the depths came a strange, quiet murmur as if someone nearby was whispering something under their breath. "Well... shall we go in?" - Kamil swallowed his saliva, and their gazes met in the semi-darkness. Everything they had experienced so far suddenly ceased to matter. A new, unfamiliar path was opening up before them, one that could evoke a whole range of emotions: from excitement to fear. No one took the first step. The air seemed to grow heavier and heavier, and the sounds from behind the stairs became clearer and clearer. Everyone was waiting for someone to dare to go down first....
