Marta, Staś and Igor met every afternoon on the old pier to talk about life, dreams and expeditions they had not yet dared to undertake. That evening, as the sun lazily hid behind the pine forest, they talked about the strange footprints found last night by the shore. Martha even brought a photo of paws imprinted in the mud - they were much larger than anything seen so far. "They couldn't have been dogs or deer," she said, lowering her voice. Igor looked at her thoughtfully: 'Maybe they're wolves? Or... something else?" Stasiek laughed nervously, but no one wanted to go home. Suddenly, a swan swooped up from behind the dense reeds - its wings splashing the water sounded almost like a warning. A moment later, there was a dragging, deep sound from the forest that neither of them knew. They decided to stay on the platform until dusk. Night was coming fast and the lake was taking on a silvery glow. Suddenly, something large ran across the shore, leaving behind footprints glowing in the gloom. Animals - not only swans, but also deer and foxes - converged around, as if waiting for something unusual. And then, right next to the children, HE appeared. A big shadow, resembling a wolf, but with eyes shining like the aurora borealis. He stopped, looking at them intently. Was he friendly? Did he want to warn them? Was he the one who had left mysterious footprints? Martha's heart was beating like mad as the shadow took a slow step towards them....
