Mirror in an old building

Mirror in an old building
She had always told herself that she didn't believe in superstitions. But when Zosia temporarily moved into her great-grandmother's flat, the historic townhouse in the heart of the city began to work on her imagination. Every nook and cranny of the century-old walls seemed to whisper of bygone eras, and underfoot the floor creaked, remembering the days when carriages rode the streets. What intrigued her most, however, was the mirror standing in the corner of the former living room. It was huge, framed in an intricately carved frame of dark wood. Zosia froze. She felt something draw her to the mirror, but she couldn't look away. Questions swirled in her head: Was she crazy? What is that voice? What does the mirror want to talk to her about? - Sophie... you really shouldn't have woken me up.... - it whispered again, and darkness began to thicken around her, as if the room was shrinking to the dimensions of the mirror frame. Just in front of her, in the taffrail, a figure still appeared for a brief moment - hazy, not quite human. Zosia felt that something was about to happen that she had not expected at all....
