Lila and the Enchanted Forest of Whispers
Beyond the seven hills, just beyond grandma's house, lived Lila and her faithful friend, the red-headed fox Rufus. Lila was six years old, with a storm of dark curls and an imagination bigger than the whole world.
One morning, while the dew was still glistening on the grass, Lila found an old key in the garden. It was shiny, had a fiddly handle and looked as if it had been waiting for her for many years. Rufus immediately sensed something unusual. "Wait, Lila, something here smells of adventure!" - he honked in his foxy voice.
The girl followed Rufus through the tall grass up to an old wicket that everyone said led nowhere. The key fitted perfectly. With a quiet click the wicket opened and....
Before them stretched the Forest of Whispers - a place where each tree whispered quietly, telling its own amazing story. "Hello, Lilo!" - the leaves hummed. "Hello, Rufus!" - chirped the crowns of the birches. Everything in the forest was magical: colourful butterflies danced in the air and stones winked at Lila with different coloured eyes.
Suddenly, an unusual light flashed from among the trees. It was blue and swirled high above the ground, illuminating the clearing. Lila felt a slight tickle in her stomach, and Rufus teased her ears.
"Let's go check it out!" - whispered Lila. Arm in arm they set off down a path that had not existed a moment ago. The closer they got, the more the light changed. Suddenly, a mysterious rustling sound came from the bushes, and a pair of sparkling eyes peeked out from under the moss....
What or who was waiting for them in the depths of the Enchanted Forest of Whispers?
