Kupala Night and Wolf Whisper
In the darkest part of the forest, where the birches bend under the weight of the mist and the aspens tremble in the wind, two souls thirsting for adventure - Jagoda and Kacper - met. It was the night of Kupala, when the boundary between the world of humans and ancient beings becomes thinnest. Wandering with torches through the gloom, they whispered about mermaids and werewolves, laughing quietly, though inside they felt a hint of anxiety.
The forest was teeming with life - the hooting of owls, the quiet creaking of leaves, the distant howl of a wolf. Now and again a pair of golden eyes flashed among the bushes, but after a while they disappeared without a trace. Between the old oaks, they came across a circle of stones, covered with mysterious signs. They stopped, enchanted.
Suddenly, a figure stepped out of the shadows. He was tall, with long black hair, clad in something that seemed to be woven from the night itself. His eyes shone like amber, and his voice, when he spoke, was low and melodious, suffused with the echoes of an ancient song.
- Are you looking for a fire? - He asked with a smile that could herald both danger and rescue.
Berry and Kacper looked at each other concerned, but curiosity overcame fear. - Who are you? - asked Kacper, clutching the torch.
The stranger moved closer and, pointing to the circle of stones, whispered: - This place is not what it seems. Only on this night can its secret be revealed. But be warned - everything has a price.
Underfoot, the ground trembled. Suddenly, in the midst of the crackle of the flames, a luminous vortex appeared, and a drawn-out, mournful howl of a wolf sounded from deep in the forest. Berry felt someone grab her arm....
And then there was a bang, and the light of the torch suddenly went out, leaving them in absolute darkness.
