Hania's wardrobe door
The rain taps loudly on the window in Hania's room.
Mum is cooking soup in the kitchen and Raven is asleep.
Hania hears a quiet knocking from inside the wardrobe.
"Who's there?" she asks, but no one answers.
The knocking returns, now even clearer and closer.
Hania stands up, opens the wardrobe and pulls the coats apart.
Behind them she can see a small, round door, like in a doll's house.
This door was not there yesterday.
On the door hangs a golden key on a thin string.
Hania touches the key and feels a slight tingling in her fingers.
The raven raises its head and meows quietly, like a sign.
"Relax, I'll just have a look," Hania says to the cat.
She inserts the key into the hole and slowly turns it.
The door flashes with a blue light and shakes like a drum.
There is a smell of forest and wet grass coming from the cupboard.
Laughter can be heard, as if from a distant, sunny glade.
Something calls her name very quietly, almost in a whisper.
Hania takes the torch from the desk and breathes deeply.
The door swings open on its own, all the way to the width of her hand.
A path of leaves shines inside, like lamps.
Suddenly, the wind extinguishes the lamp on the desk, it goes dark.
Quick footsteps are heard from deep inside, getting closer and closer.
