The metallic gleam of the Odyssey ship reflected off the eternal darkness of space. On the bridge, Captain Lena Zaręba was reviewing readings, and the entire crew - Commander Nikolai Bajda, engineer Vera Onishchenko and astrobiologist Maximilian Cichy - were breathlessly on the lookout for signals of life from the newly discovered planet. They were in the distant Rho-Tau nebula, where human feet had never yet set foot. As the 'Odyssey' approached the unknown globe, strange impulses began to stir in the onboard systems. Communicators went berserk, computers suddenly displayed coded messages that no Earth technology recognised. - 'There's something here, Lena,' whispered Maks, trying to decipher the mysterious signals. - 'This data... It looks like someone is trying to contact us, but they're not using any known alphabet. Suddenly, a swirling sequence of symbols appeared on the widescreen, flashing purple and gold. Vera quickly realised that the symbols were arranged in a unique rhythm - as if someone was winking at them from the surface of the planet. Atmospheric readings indicated that the planet was not only inhabited, but also technologically active. However, the increasing vibrations and series of energy flashes around their ship heightened the tension. - Be warned, we are approaching the edge of the energy field. We don't know what will happen if we pass through it,' Nikolai called out. At that very moment, the 'Odyssey' was engulfed in a pulsating, luminous haze. All the sensors went crazy and the space-time around them began to bend, as if reality was suddenly becoming soft and unpredictable.
