Evening at the Old Stryszek
The old attic above the house on Linden Street has always been a mysterious and somewhat frightening place. The dust, the cobwebs and, above all, the silence and the creaking boards aroused different emotions in anyone who entered it.
That evening, as the wind ruffled the tree branches, a pack of friends gathered in the attic: Marek, Lena, Tomek and Ola. Each of them carried their own baggage of emotions, although none would confess it out loud. Lena, fascinated by ghosts, felt excitement; Marek hid his anxiety under a smile; Tomek played tough, although his heart was beating harder than usual; and Ola came to overcome her fear of the dark.
Old trunks, hats from other eras, porcelain masks and forgotten albums piled up around them. Clocks ticked quietly, as if counting down the time to something important. Sitting in a circle on the faded carpet, the friends decided to tell their biggest secrets. The atmosphere was thickening. Each successive word made one feel more and more emotions - from laughter to shame to fear and excitement.
Suddenly, in the corner, behind a large box, a quiet rustling could be heard, as if someone or something had moved in the darkness. The friends froze, their hearts quickened and their imaginations began to run wild. Was it just a draught, or was it....
Before they had time to react, something squeaked even closer. Tension hung in the air, and four pairs of eyes gazed into the shadows on the other side of the loft....
