Envelope for the Christmas helper
On Christmas Eve, snow fell silently on the roof. In Zosia's house, the Christmas tree was lit and gingerbread was scented. Pikuś, the little dog, was frolicking by the armchair. Grandpa hummed a carol and the clock ticked quietly. Parcels with red bows lay in the living room.
Suddenly Zosia saw something on the window sill. There was a white envelope with a star drawn on it. On the envelope was written: For the Christmas Helper. Zosia looked at her grandfather, he just blinked. - I think it's for you - he whispered cheerfully.
Zosia opened the window, the cold air rushed in. A small bell rang in the distance, like from a sled. In the envelope was a map and a small bell. A trail to an old spruce tree was drawn on the map. - Shall we go, Pikuś? - Zosia put on a warm scarf. Suddenly the Christmas tree lights flashed three times and went out. Someone knocked on the door and the handle moved. A whisper came from behind the door, as if someone was calling Zosia.
