Eira and the horn from the Dragon

Eira and the horn from the Dragon
Eira was a little Viking girl from the fjord. She lived in a bright long house with her mum and dad. Dad Bjorn repaired boats in the bay. Mum Asa baked bread and dried herbs. Eira ran around the pier and counted discs. She liked the wind, the salt and the quiet whisper of the waves. Her best friend was Olaf from the neighbouring boat. They called the big boat in the village Dragon. One morning the sea was like a milky mist. On the beach lay a horn with a sign carved on it. The mark was like a little lightning on a stone. Eira touched the horn and heard a quiet clink. "That sounds like a map." - whispered Olaf. They ran to the Dragon and climbed onto the deck. Under the bench they found a sack with a glowing rune. The sack trembled as if something was breathing inside it. "Maybe it's a mouse," said Eira, rather confidently. "Or a little fjord spirit," added Olaf. Then the wind died down and the water stood still. A shadow with a long ridge emerged from the mist. The bag moved more strongly and the horn played itself.
