Darkness over the City of Whispers
The City of Whispers had a chill about it that no summer sunshine could dispel. The old townhouses, narrow streets and historic bridges over the River Bystra seemed to live a life of their own, rustling quietly in the darkness. It was here, in the heart of the city, that three students: Lena, Igor and Szymon, decided to rent a flat. Each of them hoped for something unusual; however, none of them thought they would experience such a thing.
The first worrying sign came just after they moved in. Lena woke up in the middle of the night, hearing whispers coming from the wardrobe. She wasn't alone - Igor couldn't sleep either, convinced that his shadow lengthened slightly after dark, as if he was trying to escape through a crack under the door. Simon, on the other hand, found that every page he wrote down turned white after a few hours, as if a hidden hand was erasing the thoughts from existence.
Despite their initial fear, the students decided to ignore the unexplained phenomena. However, one evening, just after a session at the university, Lena noticed a figure in the street whose face was completely blurred and whose shadow seemed to follow her across half the city. The next day, Igor realised that when he concentrates on someone's voice, he can hear not only words but also hidden intentions. Simon, on the other hand, discovered that when he gets very nervous, he can transcribe people's thoughts straight into his notebook - even when they are silent.
The friends were not sure whether they were losing their minds or discovering something completely new about themselves and the city. They decided to investigate what was behind these powers - was it a curse or a gift? One night they gathered on the old bridge, where Lena first saw a blurry face. As they looked into the darkness, they felt that someone or something was watching them from behind the mist, and the noise of the river suddenly took the form of clear words: "You are chosen."
At that moment a figure emerged from the shadows. And then.
