Crossing the Snowy Forest
Amelia stood at the edge of the Snowy Forest, pressing her arms to her chest. A silvery mist floated above the treetops, swirling as if breathing its own rhythm. Leon laughed briefly - his voice sounded a little too loud in the silent silence of the morning.
- 'You'll see, it won't be so scary,' he said, though he himself shuddered slightly at the sight of the darkness thickening under the leaves. Together they set off along a path where the soft moss muffled the sound of footsteps and each tree seemed to whisper with its neighbour in a strange, unfamiliar language.
Further on, among the cobwebs stretched between the branches, a tiny ball could be seen entangled in the morning light, pulsating as if teeming with life. Amelia froze, her heart accelerating like mad. Leon, trying to remain calm, reached for this ball, but when he touched it with his fingers, it immediately recoiled, hissing quietly in pain.
- It's like... electricity! But there's no wire here after all,' he wheezed in a stifled voice.
A different sound came to them from deep in the forest: something between the echo of a melody and the gentle hum of a waterfall. A light appeared next to them - a tiny blue flame that floated above the forest undergrowth and trembled, as if watching them intently.
- Can we really see it? - Amelia could barely breathe.
Flame began to move slowly away from them, glancing over his shoulder every now and then. Leon moved after him without hesitation. Amelia hesitated a second, but the thought of returning through the thick fog to an empty house made her follow her friend nonetheless.
The forest around them grew thicker and thicker, and the mist began to take on colours - first blue, then emerald and pink. The flame led them deeper and deeper until finally they came to a clearing where the ground was covered with phosphorescent flowers and in the centre stood a huge stone with a carving depicting a winged figure. Above it hovered a ball of light, like the one Leon had wanted to touch earlier.
Suddenly, the ground began to vibrate slightly, the trees formed a circle and everything around was enveloped in an unusual glow. Amelia, feeling her heart pounding, held her breath. Leon whispered:
- I think someone is waiting for us here....
At that moment, a mysterious silhouette emerged from the shadows, its eyes glittering and its voice, though gentle, sounded clear:
- You have crossed into a world you do not know. The question is, why have you come here?
Amelia and Leon looked at each other uncertainly, not knowing what to answer. A mist swirled around them, a flame danced past their feet and the forest held its breath in anticipation of their first move....
