School No 13 in Wygwizdów was so boring that even the clocks stopped running for lack of excitement. But that changed one Tuesday, just after maths, when Bartek, Nina and Marek - masters of cutting retorts and school jokes - were bored in the common room, sipping diluted compote. Then Mr Staszek, the legendary joker, entered the room, dragging a strange, creaking trolley behind him. On the trolley stood something resembling a metal tube, on which was glued a crookedly printed inscription: "Temporary Substitute Teacher - SUPERBOT Model 2077". - Oho, a new victim! - whispered Nina, rubbing her hands together. - Looks like the school is finally investing in robots.... As if regular teachers weren't enough already.... - Bartek bit his tongue at the sight of Mrs Basia, the Polish teacher, walking past. Superbot 2077 switched on with a protracted "buziuuuum!" and displayed a screen on its belly: "Hello, students! Engagement level: 0%. I am initiating the activation procedure!". The caretaker smiled mysteriously and almost danced a moonwalk, leaving the children with a technological oddity. The robot analysed the room for a while before finally focusing on the boys and Nina. - For effective education I require: coffee, a doughnut and.... an iPhone charger. First come, first served! Marek immediately sprang to his feet. - Did he just demand a doughnut? This has to be the coolest robot in the world! Nina gave him a sceptical look: - But why does a robot need coffee? Bartek was already plotting: - Maybe if we could convince it to write a maths class for us.... Suddenly, the robot's screen flashed red and a metallic voice came from the speaker: - Warning! System bypass attempt detected! The children looked at each other with fright and excitement - not knowing if they were about to witness the most epic technological disaster in the school's history, or if they were about to... save the world from a rogue robot teacher. Suddenly, the robot began to flash its lights, and something began to emerge from the compartment beneath its feet....
