The city of Aeris floated high above the lands, shrouded in soft carpets of clouds. The inhabitants moved between the towers on narrow bridges or glided on their personal wing-propellers. As the sun set, the entire city shone with a thousand lights, and from the space beneath the clouds came only distant echoes of the Earth from centuries ago. That evening, Leandra, Aki, Iro and Malek met on the observation deck, which was their favourite spot. For months, the friends had had one dream: to find the lost archives from the time of the first flight. According to legends, they held the secrets of advanced technology, allowing them to travel even further. Suddenly, the silence was shattered by a low, dragging sound. An invisible hand seemed to touch the core of the city, and all the lights dimmed. A mysterious signal flowed through the speakers - short, regular pulses, like a code. Iro immediately reached for his communicator, trying to locate the source. "This signal... it's coming from outside the city!" - he whispered in disbelief. Aki read out the data on the tablet, and Leandra looked at Malek. Anxiety and excitement shone in their eyes. At the same time, an unfamiliar light flashed at the northern end of the city, near the abandoned hangars - an electric blue glow they had never seen before. The city's roads began to change position, bridges diverting traffic as if someone was directing them from outside. Leandra squeezed Aki's hand. "We need to check this out. If it's really the archives, we're the only ones who have a chance of getting there first." The four friends set off towards the hangars, weaving through the maze of changing streets and fading lights. The closer they got to their destination, the more they felt that someone or something was waiting for them there.... Suddenly, another sound pulse fell from the sky. The crystal roofs of the hangars began to vibrate, and a metallic, distorted voice rang out from within. The hangar doors slowly swung open and a streak of light shot out from inside, blinding everyone around them....
