Christmas whisper in the attic
It is Christmas Eve morning at Hania's house.
Snow lies on the wide window sill.
The house smells of gingerbread and oranges.
Dad is decorating the Christmas tree with little lights today.
Mum is stirring borscht in a red pot.
Bury, Hania's cat, purrs under a chair.
Hania looks for a Christmas bell in her sock.
Instead of the bell, she finds a folded strange piece of paper.
There are traces of glitter on the card like stars.
Hania reads in a whisper: "The first star is lost. Help!".
"Where to look for it?" asks Hania of Bury.
Bury just nods his tail and looks up.
Silent dust flashes on the stairs to the attic.
Hania lights a torch and climbs the steps.
The attic door is slightly open and creaks.
Bells can be heard, as if from Santa's pocket.
Behind the door a golden light flashes, once brighter, once quieter.
Hania puts her hand on the door handle and calls out: "Hello?"
The handle trembles in her fingers, and something knocks.
The door moves slowly, and then something....
