On the seventh floor of an old Warsaw townhouse, a peculiar silence had always prevailed. The stairs creaked as if they remembered every footstep, and the walls had the smell of old books and dampness about them. It was here that Leon, Matilda and Patryk met late one Thursday evening. They came here for a reason. Leon had rented a flat right under the roof, and since moving in he had woken up every day with the feeling that someone was watching him. But what caught their attention that evening was much more specific: just opposite Leon's door was a strange, unfamiliar door with carved ornaments - it didn't match any style, and its colour was impossible to tell. - 'I swear, it wasn't here yesterday,' Leon said, putting his hand to the shiny handle. - 'Maybe someone is redecorating? - suggested Matilda sceptically, glancing at Patrick. Patrick just shook his head. - 'Who renovates a door at two in the morning? Before anyone had time to react, the handle trembled and turned by itself. The door opened noiselessly, revealing an interior shrouded in a thick neon fog. Instead of a wall, there was something... other. The darkness shimmered with hundreds of colours, as if they were looking at the city at night through a kaleidoscope. Matilda took a tentative step forward and her shadow spread across the floor and, to everyone's surprise, began to move independently. A quiet laughter could be heard inside - high-pitched, metallic, not belonging to any human being. Patrick reached out to stop his friends, but it was too late. Leon crossed the threshold, and the world around him began to dissolve. The walls of the tenement moved away, and they stood in the middle of something that resembled a corridor made of light. At the end of the corridor was a silhouette. It had blue eyes that seemed to pierce through them. Around the figure, swirling flakes of paper formed words: "You have come because you seek answers. But are you ready to hear them?" At the same moment, the door behind them slammed shut with a bang and everything around them flashed with blinding light....
